LarryBoy Costume For Crochet Cucumber Inspired by Veggie Tales

st = stitch
sc = single crochet
BLO = back loops only
2tog = 2 stitches together
ch1 = chain one 
dc  = double crochet
F/O = finish off

LARRY BOY COSTUME

Bottom Part With Purple:

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st           (12)
3) 1sc in next st,  2sc in next st   (18)
4) 1sc in next 2st, 2sc in next st   (24)
5) 1sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st   (30)
6) 1sc in next 4st, 2sc in next st   (36)
7) 1sc in next 5st, 2sc in next st   (42)

8-15) 1sc in each st for 8 rows, switch to yellow on last st of last row
16-17) 1sc in each for 2 rows (42)

18) ch1 and turn, starting with 2nd st from hook, 1sc in next 41st
19) ch1 and turn, starting with 2nd st from hook, 1sc in next 41st

20) ch1 and turn, starting with 2nd st from hook, 1sc in next 40st and switch to white on the 41st st

21) ch1 and turn, starting with 2nd st from hook, 1sc in next 40st and sl st into the 41st st and finish off. Weave in tails

White Cuff Piece:

1) ch 43
2-6) starting with 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each for 5 rows (42)
finish off and sew in place. You can fold back corners and stitch in place as shown in the picture below or refer to video tutorial 


BLACK BELT STRAP:

1) ch 42 *or less if need be
2-4) starting with 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each for 3 rows (41)
finish off

*** put the bottom costume piece on the doll then place the chain around the doll to make sure the ends of the chain don't quite touch, reason being you want the belt to have to stretch to fit on to ensure it stays up unless you plan to sew the belt in place then it doesn't matter                                                    
BELT BUCKLE:

WITH BLACK

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st           (12)
3) 1sc in next st,  2sc in next st   (18)
sl st into next st and finish off
WITH GREY

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st (12)
3) 1sc in each (12)
sl st into next st and finish off

sew grey piece onto black piece. Sew onto strap



Top Part With Purple:

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st           (12)
3) 1sc in next st,  2sc in next st   (18)
4) 1sc in next 2st, 2sc in next st   (24)
5) 1sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st   (30)
6-8) 1sc in each for 3 rows (30)

9) 1sc in next 2st then 2sc in next st (40)
10) 1sc in next 3st then 2sc in next st (50)
11) 1sc in each  (50)

12-22) 1sc in each for 11 rows. *** Now put the top part on doll and make sure the bottom edge of piece covers the eyes and nose of Larry. If not then add another row or 2.
sl st into next st and finish off. Weave in tails

EYES:


1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st,   (12)
3) 1sc in next 4st, 3sc in next 3st, 1sc in next 5st (18)
4) 1sc in next 5st, 3sc in next st, 1sc in next 3st, 3sc in next st,
    1sc in next 8st, (22)
(5)1sc in each, (22)
    sl st to next st and finish off

*** Outline the eye with a chain of purple. See video if unsure how to do this

NOSE:

1) magic circle with 4st (4)
2) 2sc in each st            (8)
3-4) 1sc in each st for 2 rows (8)
finish off, stuff and weave tail in and out along the edge then pull the hole closed. Sew into place

PLUNGER PIECES:

With Black, Make 2

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st           (12)
3) 1sc in next st,  2sc in next st   (18)
sl st to next st and finish off

With Yellow, Make 2

1) magic circle with 5st
2-4) 1sc in each for 3 rows (5)
sl st to next st and finish off

With Red, Make 2

1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) 2sc in each st           (12)
3) 1sc in each (12)
sl st to next st and finish off

weave the tail down through the middle of both yellow and red pieces. Sew red to yellow then sew onto black piece. Hot glue or sew into place on helmet. Please refer to video on tips for these pieces
, chain a length that will fit around bottom of yellow piece and sew that in place


Very top of Helmet:

make 2

1) ch7
2) starting with 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next 6st (6)
3-5) 1sc in each for 3 rows (6)
6) 2tog, 1sc in next 2st, 2tog (4)
7-9) 1sc in each for 3 rows (4)
10) 1sc, 2tog, 1sc (3)
11-13) 1sc in each for 3 rows (3)
14) 2tog, 1sc (2)
15-16) 1sc in each for 2 rows (2)
17) 2tog (1)
18) 1sc,  then finish off leaving a long tail for sewing

sew 2 pieces together and then decorate with some yellow as pictured below. place onto helmet and shape it a bit with your fingers to make it easier to sew then sew piece in place making sure it's centered.
